You must obtain a CERTIFIED copy of the judgment of conviction from the court where you pled guilty in order to demonstrate the charge was reduced to a misdeanor.

Give me a call if you would like some assistance in obtaining the record you need.

You may need a Virginia Attorney to help correct the record. I can give you the name of a good attorney that I personally dealt with in Va.

Good luck!

The Department of Criminal Justice Services(See Va. Code Sec. 9.127)which operates the Commonwealth's criminal information system is the state agency in Richmond which you will need to deal with. It is this agency which is empowered to make whatever changes in your criminal conviction history which may be appropriate. You should ensure that they receive a certified copy of the court's order which reduced your charge from a felony to a misdemeanor along with your letter requesting that they review the information which they have on record regarding the conviction at issue and make whatever changes may be required to reflect accurately your actual conviction history.
