Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Son moved out

I had to ask my son to move out when he refused to behave or go to school. Now, almost 6 months later, he wants all of ''his things'', to include furniture. Am I under any obligation to give him items in my home that he did not purchase?

Re: Son moved out

No, you are not since your son is not the owner of such items.

Ownership also applies to items given as gifts.

If the items you're referencing were not given as gifts to your son, then he also would have no claim of ownership to them and you would have no obligation to turn them over to him.
