Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Virginia

being fired for complaining about sexual harassment

I work at a franchised 711 and i had a coworker who was sexually harassing me. The problem is the person who was harassing me lives with the owner of the 711. Can my boss fire me for telling on the coworker?

Re: being fired for complaining about sexual harassment

Sure(your boss can fire you), but both could be sued in federal court and, perhaps, the 7-11 itself, if they've violated federal anti-discrimation law prohibiting sexual harassment in the workplace.

If you have such a complaint, you should file it with your nearest EEOC office and allow them to investigate it.
