Next of Kin

In the ''pecking'' order of who is related as closest to my Uncle and is considered the ''next of kin'' when all other close relatives [parents, sister, etc., have passed away] ...is it me, the niece, or is it a cousin? Thank you.

If you mean your uncle's cousin, your degree of consanguinity as your uncle's niece should trump that of the cousin in determining which of you is more closely related to your apparently now deceased uncle.
