Petit Theft

How should I plea for petit theft charges? I want to keep this off my record.

If you plead guilty, it will certainly be on your record. If it is your first criminal offense, there may be a program that you can enter that, upon successful completion, will cause the court to dismiss the charge and even seal the arrest record. also, you may have a case that can be plea bargained or won at trial.
