My daughters father has failed to provide support for our daughter for the past 17 years she has just turned 18 and i recieved a call from him wanting to waive my rights to the child support and arreages owed of more than 30,000 he said he is being pursued by the police in wva but now living in kentucky and has no intentions of returning to wva so he will never pay it i am wanting to know do i have to and now will the back pay if ever recieved which is unlikely will go to my daughter or to me it has been court ordered since 1990

You should not do or agree to anything until you consult with an attorney. Since there are different jurisdictions involved, there may be different remedies available to you.
