Dating a minor

In WI, can a 21 year old date a 15 year old without having sex/sexual relations?I heard they would have to wait to start dating until she turned 16, is that true?

Re: Dating a minor

I would say this, technically the statutes prohibit sexual contact with a minor, so if there is no sexual contact then really your just friends right? Where the line of sexual contact is drawn however, is unclear to me. Kissing may be considered sexual contact, oral sex certainly would be considered sexual contact. If she is under sixteen and you are charged it is a Felony, if she is over sixteen it is a misdemeanor (I believe) but is still a criminal conviction.

Never mind the practical aspects of whether or not kissing or making out is sufficient to be considered sexual contact, you are playing with fire being involved with a child while you are a full grown adult. If she ever accuses you of sexual conduct, or more likely, her parents accuse you, you could be in a whole lot of trouble. My advice, date girls (or guys) your own age, it is really not worth the risk of prison time.
