Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I rented a car from Enterprise while at a party I happen to fall asleep and someone grab the keys and took the car.i waited 4 days hoping they would bring it back..nothing so I reported it missing to the police and the dealership I was communicating with all the while..anyways days after the car was pulled over and they got back there car ..yet months after this I get pulled over and taken to jail on a warrant for allegedly stealing this car. .the car was a rental,I had a contract yet I have a embezzlement and joyriding charge. What gives

"What gives" is that you're charged with crimes, and get to now defend against them in court.

Your 'story' details, the actual contract terms, and the police reports are going to be the starting point for your lawyer to use in court, along with whatever else he finds in his investigation.
