Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India
My Grandfather purchased one plot at Kolkata in 1937 and built one house. He died in 1955 and survived by his wife (also died in 1985), only son and only daughter (married in 1944). Pls. suggest what is the share for each (i.e. surviving son and daughter). As per my understanding entire share goes to the son as daughter was married much earlier (i.e. 1944) the Hindu Succession act 1956.

Your understanding is incorrect. The share for both son and daughter would be equal if the grandparents died intestate otherwise as per the will. You may drop in a detailed query at [email protected]
