Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

If I write a negative review about a product or a institution (e.g. travel company, engineering college etc...) on a website (like imdb, amazon etc...) will the company or institution file a defamation case against me??

Dear Sir / Madam,

Our Constitution grants freedom of expression and opinion to every citizen. Unless you have stated anything untrue, the Company or institution cannot level a defamation case against you.

Unless your statement come under any one of ten exceptions given under the Section 499 Indian Penal code, your act will amount to an offence punishable under section 500 of Indian penal code. They may file a civil suit for damages for the damage caused by your act of defamation.
