Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi, I’M 30yrs Old my girl friend is 24, I have approached parents to convince them for our marriage. But they have denied to so coz of caste and religion. Now my girl friend is harassed by her family members(Father/Mother/Cousin brother) like beating her, tearing her dress, not giving proper food, using abusing words and locked in one room for 2 months. She tried to run away from home, but neighbours and family members caught and locked again inside the room. Kindly pls help me how to rescue her from this situation. There is no communication between me and my gf friend for last 3 months. I have all proofs which she has shared me on face book messenger and text msgs. Even she is ready to come to police station and give complaint against her parents. But they have locked her in room, influencing money with police. Kindly suggest how to take this forward. Can i raise complaint on Domestic violence act on her behalf, will police help us with complaint we raise or anyone can influence police. Pls suggest.

Yes, you can take her out from her parental house by law and also get married with her.

Until there is a legal relationship between you and her, there is no way you can be involved. As of now, you are a stranger having NO right about her. The only solution is : (a) she comes out of the house; (b) you both marry and (c) get the marriage registered in accordance with law. Till then, you should stay cool and ask her to stay cool. Wait for the appropriate opportunity.
