Hi I would like to get a little advice please my mom had some money in sajico and she passed away a couple of years now and I would like to know what to do because we went in to them and they said we have to get a power of attorney could you help me please

You will need to engage the services of an attorney to probate your mothers estate. I am assuming your mother did not leave a will, so an application for letters of administration will have to be made. The person who is appointed as administrator will then have the power to acquire and share your mothers estate according to the laws of intestacy.

If however, your mother had nominated a beneficiary for her policy at Sagico then it should simply be a matter of the beneficiary producing a copy of the death certificate and proper identification to sagico
