Dear Sir,

There are two methods for registration of a Marriage.

1. To apply for the intended marriage of the parties and then the Registrar having territorial Jurisdiction will send the notices to the parents of both the parties and then if the Registrar would not receive any objection from either of the parents then after the gap of one month of the application filed by the parties the Registrar would register the marriage in front of the witnesses.

2. The other procedure is to get married first and then apply for the registration of the marriage. In this case the Registrar would give 15 days time for Police Verification to verify whether the parties are residing together or not. If the Verification report would be in favour of the parties then the registrar would register the marriage in front of two witnesses who have attended the marriage.

3. That other procedure can be adopted wherein no communication would be sent to the parents or any police verification would be required.
