Legal Question in Employment Law in India
In my bank, i mean where i was worked, my management is issued a circular regarding sabbatical leaves of 2 years for women employees. The said leaves is available for only women and the leaves availed in any case like maternity, personal issues, higher study and any case which is subject to case to case of women issues. The circular is notified in respect of Government of India wide circular no F No. 9/20/2011-IR, GoI, Ministry of Finance , dated 28-02-2012.
My objection of that i have requested my bank to kindly permit me 2 years of sabbatical leave for Azim Premji Fellowship Program but they have rejected my request and said that such leave is only for women employee. And for that i have given resignation from my job and they have accepted my resignation.
My following question kindly solve this,
1) Why sabbatical leaves is only for women employees, can male employees is not eligible for said leave.
2) I have served more then 7 years of this bank and bank cant given such kind of leave and they have rejected and displeased me of my 07 years of dedicated service.
3) Government of India issued such circular and differentiate the gender equality.
4) Why male employees is not eligible for such leaves.
Kindly solve my problems
