Legal Question in Employment Law in India

one of my ex employee resigned and served his notice period, after few days one of my senior management wrote a mail stating that he is dishonest and we caught him took bribes, he also got that mail somehow now he is filling a defamation and mental harassment case on our company please suggest what to do..can he file a case with the help of that mail if yes what could we do to stop this..and if he really files a case what would be the result...

Dear Sir / Madam,

Yes, the mail is sufficient for the ex employee to file a defamation suit against the Company. You should call the employee, admit and apologize that the mail was sent by an oversight and try to amicably mutually resolve the matter with the ex-employee.
