Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Trinidad and Tobago

I have finally received my grant of probate. I have decided not to complete a sale on property. Reason - The buyer did not get his loan approved within the ninety days but since he knew I did not have the contract of the sale (taken by a family member he befriended ) he called me at around 140 days stating his lawyer requested the cadastral sheets. Note I gave him because I assumed it was still within the contract period and did not want to default on the contract. Had I known it was outside the period I would not have given any documents. If he was not given those sheets, to this date he would not have the purchase price. He involved himself in the deceased estate (by advising a family member to take all legal documents and hide them) and dishonestly obtained documents by withholding information from me, when he knew he should have noted the contract date had passed to the estate. I realised the buyer was being dishonest and has decided to terminate sale based on those grounds. Am I legally within my rights to terminate.

The only reason advanced for determining the contract is based on time. All the other reasons advanced are not based on law but your opinion. I suggest you consult an Attorney-at-Law for a legal opinion on this matter. Should you decide not to complete the sale please expect an action in court for an order for specific performance, compelling you to complete same.
