Legal Question in Consumer Law in Alabama
Auto Reposession Urgent
I moved from Florida to Alabama in Aug of 2003 and purchased a vehicle from a dealer in May 2004 and financed it. Now I moved back to Florida, registered my vehicle in Florida and have never been late on a payment. They are threatening to come and get my vehicle because they told me that while I still owe money on the vehicle I cannot move out of the State of Alabama. They said it was in my contract.
Is there such a law and do they have the right to come and take my vehicle?
They say if I pay the loan off, they will not take my vehicle.
Please help quickly.

Without reviewing the financing agreement, it is difficult to provide an answer. Consult with an attorney in your area, bringing with you the agreement.
