How to Obtain Legal Status

A friend of mine was issued a 10 year visa through the U.S. Embassy her her native country of Poland. However, she has overstaed her 6 month arrival/departure ticket (I-94)issued at her arrival. Her family is sick and she needs to see them but wants to return here to the U.S. Can she leave and come back legally? She overstayed here I-94 for more than a year. What are her options?

She doesn't have any options to return if she leaves. She has more than one year of unlawful presence and will be subject to a ten year bar to reentry.
