Adding a domestic partner to title
I would like to add my domestic partner to the title of my Alabama property, thus making her a joint tenant. Will that trigger a gift tax obligation on my part? Will it be better to wait until we are married before adding her to the title?

The present conveyance might have federal gift tax implications whereas a conveyance after marriage would not.
