Brother's executrix

My wife's brother died 2 years ago with out a will. there is money in his bank account that the bank says is enough to pursue . How does get appointed his eciutrix without much expense?

The process is a little more difficult than can be explained on the web. Nevertheless, many attorneys can handle the paperwork for only a small fee of around $500. There are other expenses as well.

There are many pitfalls in this situation that I would strongly suggest evaluating whether to spend the money on an attorney. The bank says it is worth going after, but how much is that? $1,000 isn't worth the trouble since it will cost almost that much in expenses and attorney fees and time invested. If it is $20,000 then it is a far different story and worth the effort.
