Power of Attorney & Healthcare Proxy

Are a Durable Power of Attorney and Healthcare Proxy, which were drawn up in Florida, valid in Alabama?

Most likely they are. It depends upon when they were drafted but in general, if they are fairly recent, the court will probably uphold them. Never hurts to update the documents though.

On the issue of the Durable Power of Attorney, Alabama has a very specific provision that specifies exact wording of the P of A in order for it to be considered durable. I don't know if Florida has the same language, so it makes sense to have the DPOA reviewed.
