wage garnishment

how can i fight a wage garnishment if i was never served with the original paperwork?

Yes!

You should have been served a document with the Notice of Garnishment that is titled "Request for Hearing", which has listed the appropriate objections that can be presented to the Court. One of those objections is "The Garnishee does not have a valid judgment against me".

If you were not properly served the complaint and summons in the underlying civil case, the judgment granted is void.
