I have a 2 week old daugher... the father is not on the birth certificate. May i leave the state to move to another state if he hasn't already tried to take me to court?

Under the circumstances you described, you are permitted to relocate; however, if he files a paternity action, the court may be asked to determine whether it is in the child's best interests to return to Arizona. I recommend you speak with an attorney prior to taking any action.

Yes. BUT, there can be repercussions depending upon how you handle things before and after the relocation.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options for relocation and then dealing with Father afterwards.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Alicia or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
