Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona
If my husband buys a business in California, and I live in Arizona, am I entitled to half? He lives in California right now, but their is no legal separation or divorce, he still uses my address to file taxes. So, can I ask for half?
1 Answer from Attorneys
If you file in Arizona, all property acquired during the marriage, no matter where located, will be considered community property. Thus, if the business he buys has value, that value must be divided.
