Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

My husband put a down payment on a house 6 months before we were married. We both work and we have been making payments for 7 years. Do I have any rights to the house?

Yes, you do. The key questions are, when was the house purchased? Whose name(s) were on the title? Whose name(s) are on the mortgage? Who has been helping pay off the mortgage? Who has been helping pay for improvements/repairs to the property? Even if it is deemed his sole and separate property you may have a community property lien in it. I would advise you to consult with a family law attorney to get a more definitive analysis. Best of luck!

Yes, you have rights in the value of the house. Arizona has a specific formula to be used to establish what portion is subject to "equitable division".
