Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

I live in Arizona. I owe back child support. my current child support is about to end. will my child support go down when my son is 18 or will I have to continue paying the same amount I do now until all past due is paid. I cant seem to get a straight answer from anyone in Arizona. Also is there any way to settle a past due amount?

Thank you

Whn your ongoing support ends, you can ASK the court to lower your monthly payment based upon need. BUT, do not expect a ton of sympathy if you are significantly behind. AND YES, the entire amount can be settled with Mom, SO LONG as the state of Arizona is not owed any of the balance.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options, and also can assist in negotiating a reduced lump sum payment and a binding agreement to that end.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Gloria or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation
