Legal Question in Immigration Law in Arizona

My friend is an immigrant from Canada who moved here with her husband over ten years ago. Unfortunately, they have come to the point of divorce in their marriage. Her husband is not yet a legal citizen and she has been residing as simply as his spouse while he works to obtain citizenship. She has been a stay at home mom, so she never started an independent process for citizenship. What preparatory steps does she need to take to ensure she will not be removed following the divorce? She also has two young daughters who were both born here, so they have dual citizenship. Thanks for your advice.

It is not clear on what visa (status) she's been residing in USA all these years?

Did she come as a visitor without a visa and simply stayed in USA? Or did she have a specific visa (as a husband's dependen)t?

What is her husband's status? How he "works to obtain a citizenship"?

Also, before a foreigner can become a US citizen, they are required to obtain a green card (permanent residency). Is she or her husband a permanent resident?

She needs to consult a knowledgeable immigration attorney directly for advice, as it's not clear from your post what is her current situation and eligibility.
