Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona

Neighbor placing signs on my fence

I live in a rural Arizona area. My 7 acre property is fenced with barbed wire (my fence). A new neighbor has wired on No Trespassing signs at intervals on my fence which borders his property. I believe he does nat have the right to put his signs directly on my fence. I don't csre if he has notices on his property. Can I tell him to remove the signs from my fence? There are about 20 signs.

Thank you!

Re: Neighbor placing signs on my fence

Your message does not say what conversation you have had with the neighbor regarding this issue, so I presume none. Try to work it out between you, in that this is not a matter worth hiring lawyers over or having bad feelings with a neighbor.

Is the fence on your property, on directly on the property line? If directly on the property line, even though you paid for or erected the fence, he might have rights to the fence. If the fence is totally on your side of the property (would be unusual) he could post a sign on a signpost on his side of the property.

What harm does the sign do you anyway, since it is clear that it applies to persons coming onto his property, not yours? Will it really make a difference if he posts his signs on separate posts instead of the wire? You will still see the signs.

Work this out between yourselves.

Best regards,

James D. Jenkins
