my question is regarding the tax write off of a home. I recently am divorced and signed a contract with a landlord for a house I am looking to buy (my ex lives in our house and is going to refi the house and put it in her name) The landlord and I agreed I would rent the house and I would be given the % tax write off compared to my rent. I asked him to send me the information for the write off and he says he isn't going to do it becasue his accountant says he cant...i have done this before i was married and I know several other people who have rented and got the tax write off as well. What can I do?
