bankruptcy effects on remarriage
I plan to get remarried in the near future. How will/and if this will effect my future spouses credit. What alternatives to fixing my credit are possible. I am pursuing a legal career and this information would benefit me in cases i work with. thank you for your knowledge

Re: bankruptcy effects on remarriage
Bankruptcy stays on your credit report for 6-7 years. If you and your husband-to-be attempt to purchase anything together on credit your BR will show up. He could purchase items on credit just in his name, and your BR won't affect him.
As far as alternatives, setting up payment plans with your creditors is usually a possibility. Otherwise, even if they write the debt off, it will affect your credit report for 6-7 years.
Good Luck in your legal career.
