I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do to help you.

What a doctor can or cannot prove without an autopsy is a medical question, not a legal one. This is the wrong place to look for an answer to your specific question.

If you have evidence that your mother-in-law's death was a murder, tell the police. They will investigate if the evidence seems credible. But keep in mind that people sometimes die of natural causes in circumstances that merely look suspicious. You will need more than this to make the police suspicious.

Take your concerns to the police asap. You may need to hire counsel to seek exhumation and an autopsy if you can show enough facts to imply foul play. Feel free to contact if you think you can, and if the family is willing to incur the emotions and costs of doing so.
