I have a friend of my family who is pregnant and wanting to give up her baby, she has asked me and my husband to adopt her baby how do we go about this?

You will need to hire an attorney to petition the court to get an adoption. You and your husband will need to complete criminal background checks through the state police. You will also need to get child maltreatment checks too. Finally, a home study will be required of your home to make sure it is suitable.
