Legal Question in Family Law in Brazil

national to international divorce
a Brazilian citizen married in 1996 to an American citizen-the marriage was registard with the Brazilian Counsulate in Houston..A brazilian Marriage certificate was issued. The marriage was divorced in 1998 in the American court..nothing was ever done with the Brazilian Counsulate to show divorce..Is the marriage still leagal in the United States and Brazil What steps need to be taken?(if any)

You will have to talk to a Brazilian lawyer to see what the status is there -- but in the United States your divorce is legal and binding.
