Thank you for your posting. Of course you do have the right to change attorneys, for any reason you like, and to fire your current attorney.

Have you taken all steps, however, to make sure that the attorney-client relationship can't be repaired, and that the attorney can zealously fight for your goals?

Thank you for your question as to changing lawyers. Yes, you can switch attorneys at any time during a criminal matter with the Judge's permission. Normally, a Judge would not give such permission only when you were actually in a Trial, or without enough time just before Trial for another lawyer to become fully prepared to defend you adequately. Thus, you change attorneys based on what you've told me, and the question then becomes will the attorney refund some or all of the fee paid to him/her.
