Legal Question in Disability Law in California

I had some dental work done last year and paid for it in full as I am uninsured. Dental office personnel assured me that my balance was zero, so off I went. Over 18 months later, I receive a surprise in the mail, a dental bill for over one thousand dollars. Apparently, the dental office conducted an audit and found my account to be under-billed.

Is there a time period or filiing limit in which they can recoup payments due to billing errors on their part?

Of course. But it is probably 4 years; two years at the minimum.
