School Not following 504 Plan for Type 1 Diabetic

My son is in 4th grade. He is a type 1 diabetic.

We have a 504 plan in place, however, it is not being followed. If I have a situation or information to give the school (District Nurse or Health Aide), they seem to get defensive as if I am criticizing them, however, this is my child's life.

I want this school to understand the importance of following the simple instructions which I have given and are in my son's 504 Plan. They need to understand the severity of low blood sugar, as well as the seriousness of this life-long ilness. (Actually, they do NOT NEED to UNDERSTAND, They Just HAVE to FOLLOW Through with our plan of Treatment for our son.) How do I enforce this?

If you have run out of patience with them, you can hire counsel to put pressure on them to comply, and ultimately you might have grounds for suit if their conduct causes harm to him. Contact me if interested in having counsel take those first steps.
