Re: on street handicap parking

If you're on a public street in a legal parking space, there's little or nothing she can do about it. Feel free to consult with a lawyer when and if you receive such a letter.

If it's a private street owned by the property, then the owner has to reasonably accommodate your disability which might include making parking accessible.

commercial properties, including your apt complex, have to comply with state and federal codes on handicap parking. The rules are fairly clear as to how many, where, how marked, etc. It is all defined in the building plans and permits for the complex, with specific locations identified. You don't get to create your own privately. If you think you are actually being denied proper parking access, such as having an existing space painted over and removed from handicap status, then feel free to contact me.
