Legal Question in Disability Law in California

I may be targeted for placement under conservatorship by my family. I am competently managing my life, funds and relationships. What is the best way to educate myself and to seek legal counsel? The papers have not been served, but it is a matter of time. Did I mention that I have had Parkinsons Disorder for 8 years, and have separated from my life partner, recently?
