told employer go ing out on state disability for surgery had all my doctors set up approve through insurance company lays me off insurance was good for 4 days never was able to see my doctors

Under most conditions, the employer had to offer you a 30 day period of the right to COBRA conversion of your insurance, allowing you to pay the premiums to maintain the coverage for 18 months. There are penalties for violation. .
