Legal Question in Disability Law in California
I am a wheelchair user who has a gym membership in SF, the gym i go to consistantly has equipment not accessible, areas of the gym i cannot get to in order to have equal access. I have sent emails, certified letters and they make the changes for about a month then its back to the old way. Their most recent excuse is construction and adding new equipment, heck the old gym was so packed with equipment i couldnt get my wheelchair to 75% of the equipment. The head company person is trying but the local manager is stubborn and refusing to make needed and necessary accommodations. What are my options? The ADA law says that i am allowed equal access but this only happens 25 percent of the time. Not to mention the fact that i actually pay extra for a personal trainer there and that person has also tried to get accommodations done to no avail.

There are attorneys and public interest law firms that handle ADA discrimination cases. This might be one that requires litigation to make the gym pay attention to the law. Good luck!
