Legal Question in Administrative Law in California

Hi, my grandmother is currently trying to kick me out of her house and I was wondering if she really does have the legal authority to do so without notice if I have lived there for over a year. I pay no rent but I preform chores around the House in return for lodging. She is currently threatening to call the police if I do not leave immediately... Can they simply just drag me away like she thinks they can? All of my belongings are still here.

I think they can too. You aren't a tenant. Possibly you are a lodger, more likely a guest. When either a lodger or guest is asked to leave and they don't, they become trespassers and subject to immediate removal by the police, no eviction process is necessary.

If you are not an owner on the title, or if you don't have a written lease entitling you to a specific term of possession, you certainly can be evicted, either by police as a trespasser, or through unlawful detainer action. I suggest you learn the law, as well as make peace with her or leave quietly.
