Legal Question in Administrative Law in California
I'm in the military and I have a NJ driver license only.
Due to my obligations I'm currently living in California under orders, and I'm looking to obtain a motorcycle license. Can I go through the course in California and obatin a seperate license for a motorcyle only in California without surrending my NJ license.

motorcycle is an endorsement on a regular license. Talk to DMV, but I believe you have to surrender your out of state license to get a CA. Your military status allows you to retain and use your out of state license here.
