Legal Question in Administrative Law in California
motorcyle lien law
I send my suzuki gsxr600 motorcyle, worth 10k, to the dealership to be fixed. It was there for 3 months because i never got a report on what was to be fixed and because i figured it would be safe there. They apparently put a lien on the bike for a storage amount and sold the bike after trying to get in touch with me 2 times!! we never spoke, i didnt know they bike had a lien on it and now they took my bike and i owe 10k to the bank? I need help and advice. Thank you

Re: motorcyle lien law
If they followed the law and rules on lien sale, with proper notices to you, they are safe from your complaints. You could hire counsel to review the situation and the documents to see if they did follow the rules; however, I start off assuming they did since they know the rules and know the risks of non-compliance. Feel free to contact me if serious about doing so. You've got nothing to lose but some more money for attorney fees.
