Personal Items in the work place

I have a non-offensive picture of myself and my family on my desk along with a couple other personal items (a plant, etc)...Can my employer ask me to remove my things without justifiably reason?

An employer can set any rules he likes that don't violate the civil rights / discrimination laws. You're an 'at will' employee that can be fired for any reason, any time, so consider carefully before resisting.
