Legal Question in Administrative Law in California

I sold my van to a woman with payments, we wrote up and both signed contract. Her boyfriend wrecked vehicle before she finished paying me. Now I can't get the remaining $250 from her and there are tow/impound fees on van cause they didn't take out of my name. What can I do I. In California

Sounds like a trip to small-claims court is in order. Sue for the total of the remaining $250 plus the tow and impound fees, I also recommend buying one or two of the popular paperback self-help law books on "how to prepare, win and collect in California small-claims court". One publisher is Nolo Press, and an author whose name I recall is Anthony Mancuso. There are several others, also good.

Sue her in small claims court, and ignore the impound fees. The yard will generally have to lien sale the van to get their money.
