Wages and Unemployment Checks
In California, is selling your personal belongings on the internet considered a part-time job and grounds for reducing the amount of your unemployment checks?

You'll find the answer to that in the judge's order after the hearing/trial. It will depend on the facts and evidence applied to the law. Without knowing all that, no one can speculate. But, if all you were doing was selling off your personal property, no, it shouldn't. If you were in business on eBay or Craigs List, by virtue of numerous transactions, then sure, maybe. Sorry to hear you have fallen on hard times. No, selling your gear is not self-employment.
