Can I file Bankruptcy on a card that I am authorized user? All the debt is mine but the card is in my dad's name. It is about 29,000. I just can't pay it off due to personal circumstances.

Re: Bankruptcy question
The answer is 'yes' but that's not really what you want to hear. When you file bankruptcy, you are not eliminating debts ... you are simply discharging your personal responsibility to pay them. If someone else is also responsible, they will still be responsible after you have been discharged.

Re: Bankruptcy question
With a bankruptcy, you should be able to discharge your debt -- to your father, but not to the credit card company. Your father will remain on the hook.
