Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

I am divorced with no credit card debt but huge legal debt I can't pay. I am living with my boyfriend. I have no income and own a truck worth $5000. Will I have to sell my truck? Will his income be considered in determining if I can qualify for chapter 7?

Hello:

His income will not be considered if you file Bankruptcy as you are not married. We can include your truck in the exemptions so that you will not have to sell it. Call my firm to see how we can help you.

I concur. Assuming no other very major assets, your truck should be protected. Definitely seek legal advice in your area as recommended above. Note that any regular contributions to your household expenses (for example, by your bf) must be reported as income.
