Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

I am filing chapter 7, I recently moved to Ca. from Ma. leaving everything I owned in Ma...My father gave me a vehicle and put it in my name. It is my only source of transportation to and from work and I have two young children to transport as well. Can I keep my car if I file?

Perhaps you can keep your car. It depends on its value, whether it can be exempted, whether you're making payments on it, etc. Also remember that you are required to have had a residence in CA for the greater part of the last 180 days to be able to file your BK in California.
