contacting employees while on vacation
Is it legal to contact an employee who is on paid vacation? For example, I have a DBA on vacation and the database he manages is in jeopardy. Am I allowed to contact him via phone?

of course. He may get annoyed, but he is employed to do a job.

There nothing illegal about contacting an employee while he or she is on vacation. You will probably need to compensate the employee for the time spent on work matters during vacation time. This might be done providing additional vacation credits or extra hours on the next paycheck.
